‘3,523 Air India employees infected with Covid as of mid-July, 56 died’ | India News

NEW DELHI: More than a third of Air India’s 9,000 employees have been infected with Covid-19 so far and 56 of them have lost their lives.
“A total of 3,523 Air India employees have been affected by Covid-19. Of these, 56 employees succumbed to this pandemic as of July 14, 2021, ”the Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh said on Thursday in a written response to a question in Lok Sabha.
Air India had just over 9,000 employees last March.

Employees infected with Covid-19 were granted a 17-day paid quarantine leave, he said. “Reimbursement for vaccination charges is being provided to employees and their families if they are paid for by them,” he said.
