‘Doctorate in tax recovery’: Rahul Gandhi’s mockery of downtown, as fuel prices continue to rise | India News


NEW DELHI: After mocking the central government for the continued rise in fuel prices, Congressional Leader Rahul Gandhi called it a “doctorate in fiscal recovery” on Sunday.
Gandhi tweeted his comment and shared a Hindi newspaper article with the headline “The government has earned more from gasoline-diesel than from income and corporate taxes.”
Fuel prices, after being stable for a day, rose again today.
Gasoline prices have now crossed the Rs 100 per liter mark in several cities, while in others it is very close.
Bhopal has the highest prices today with petrol at Rs 105.43 per liter and diesel at Rs 96.65 per liter, followed by Mumbai with petrol and diesel prices at Rs 103.36 and 95.44 rupees per liter respectively.
Fuel prices in Patna were Rs 99.28 and Rs 93.30 per liter for gasoline and diesel.
In the national capital, Delhi’s gasoline prices today were Rs 97.22 per liter, while diesel was priced at Rs 87.97 per liter.
