New FIR against former Arunachal Pradesh CM in case of corruption | India News

NEW DELHI: The IWC has registered a new FIR against the former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Nabam Tuki, for alleged nepotism and corruption related to a contract for the construction of a border wall for the Kendriya Vidyalaya school in the Salt Lake area in Kolkata, authorities said.
The CBI, after conducting a preliminary inquiry, has alleged that officials from the Public Works Department of Arunachal Pradesh awarded the tender to firms controlled by relatives of Tuki, the then minister of PWD in the state, at his request without calling for bids, which that caused an unfair loss to the state government and an “unfair” profit corresponding to the minister and relatives.
The work to Arunachal Pradesh PWD was awarded by then-Commissioner Kendriya Vidyalaya suo motu in 2005 even though it had “not required the establishment and means” in the Salt Lake area where the construction would take place.
