BJP will contest the next assembly elections under the leadership of Yogi: UP unit boss | India News

Lucknow: UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh claimed on Tuesday that the saffron party will contest the upcoming assembly elections next year under the leadership of none other than Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath.
His statement further dampened speculation that the BJP’s top central leadership will overrule changes in government in the state ahead of the high-stakes assembly elections to be held next year.
This comes after Yogi, in an interview with TOI, rejected speculation that recent high-level meetings of the BJP and RSS chiefs had something to do with the changes in his government.
The political halls of the BJP have been filled with high-level rumors about the former IAS officer turned BJP MLC AK Sharma, who considers himself close to Prime Minister Modi, being adjusted in the state cabinet and awarded a prominent portfolio.
“Party workers will visit villages and highlight the plans and achievements of the Modi and Yogi governments,” he said. The head of the state party had recently hailed Yogi as one of the most popular and hard-working CMs the state has ever had.
