Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Center for “Fighting Blue Ticks” Amid Covid-19 Vaccine Shortage | India News

NEW DELHI: Congressional Leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday criticized the Center for allegedly “fighting for blue ticks” on Twitter as the country faces a Covid-19 vaccine shortage.
In a tweet, the congressman said that if one wanted a Covid-19 vaccine, it had to be ‘atmanirbhar’ (self-sufficient).
“Modi’s government is fighting for the blue tick. If you want a Covid-19 vaccine, be self-sufficient! #Priorities,” he tweeted.
This comes a day after Twitter removed the ‘blue ticks’, indicating a verified account, from the Twitter identifiers of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) boss Mohan Bhagwat, and other leaders.
Shortly after, the government sent a final communication to Twitter asking them to immediately comply with the requirements of the new guidelines otherwise, the resulting consequences as provided in the law will follow.
According to the Union Ministry of Health, a total of 23,13,22,417 injections of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far.
