Pakistan violates truce throughout IB at J&K | India News

JAMMU: In violation of the peace agreement signed more than three months ago, the Pakistani Rangers opened fire along the international border (IB) in the Arnia sector of J&K early Wednesday morning, sparking retaliatory fire from the BSF troops. No injuries or damage were reported in the exchange of fire.
Official sources said the Pakistani Rangers fired about 20 rounds upon noticing the movement of vehicles clearing bushes near an outpost on the Indian side.
Previously, on May 2, Pakistan had violated the ceasefire by opening fire along the IB in the Ramgarh sector. This was Pakistan’s first violation of the ceasefire since February 25, when a new agreement was signed between the two countries to keep calm along the border.
On May 14, BSF troops had recovered weapons and ammunition dropped from drones in the Samba district, approximately 250 meters into Indian territory. Alert BSF troops also thwarted at least five infiltration offers and captured two intruders between March 16 and May 18 this year. They also shot dead two intruders and wounded one, who later succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a Jammu hospital on May 28.
