Navjot Singh Sidhu meets with AICC panel, says booth “unchanged” | India News

CHANDIGARH: “My position remains unchanged. I discovered the truth, ”cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu said Tuesday after meeting with the AICC-appointed three-member panel led by the leader of the Rajya Sabha Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi.
Sidhu has criticized Prime Minister Amarinder Singh for his role as Interior Minister, especially on the issue of sacrilege cases.
“I came here when the high command called me. I transmitted the voice of the Punjab people. The truth can be overshadowed but not defeated, ”said Sidhu, who appeared upset after the meeting. He did not accept any questions.
Sidhu and Jalandhar (cantonment) MLA Pargat Singh continued their aggressive stance even as the panel met with the second group of 25 MLAs from Congress to contain the crisis in Punjab before the next elections.
There is much speculation that the panel might consider recommending two deputy CMs or two acting presidents. There is also talk of appointing Sidhu as president of the state Congress.
