Kerala Assembly Resolution Immature, Violation of Federal Principles, Says BJP | India News

Kerala BJP Chairman K Surendran said on Monday that the assembly resolution seeking the withdrawal of reforms initiated by the Lakshadweep administration and the revocation of the administrator was “immature” and a violation of federal principles. It alleged that it was another instance in which the ruling front and the opposition were misusing the assembly for narrow political interests.
“The sacred portals of the assembly have again been misused for narrow political interests. The assembly passed a resolution against the administration of a Union territory for measures taken as part of the fulfillment of constitutional duties for the development of Lakshadweep and the security of the islands, “Surendran said. He said the measure could drive a wedge between Central-state relations and asked what right the assembly had to pass a resolution.
