Army man arrested for “sexual assault” on a train | India News

KOLHAPUR: Police arrested a 33-year-old military man for allegedly attempting to sexually abuse an eight-year-old girl on the Goa-Nizamuddin Express on Monday. The man allegedly also threw the girl off the train when she screamed for help. However, he only suffered a broken leg and some injuries.
The alleged incident took place between the Satara and Lonand train stations around 1.30am. The train had left Vasco in Goa, towards Nizamuddin station in New Delhi.
Pune Rail Police Superintendent Sadanand Wayse-Patil said the girl’s father is a retired Navy man. The family had boarded the train in Vasco for New Delhi.
“Around 1.30 am, the defendant picked up the girl while she was sleeping and took her to the bathroom. He screamed for help. The Army dragged her out and threw her out of the train. Fortunately, the train was slow and she survived, ”said Wayse-Patil. tnn
