NEW DELHI: The Center on Sunday asked private television news channels to show four new numbers of national helplines for the benefit of citizens as part of the Covid-19 awareness initiative.
In a letter addressed to all private television news channels, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that the national helpline numbers should be displayed as a teletypewriter or in any other appropriate way at periodic intervals.
He praised news channels for playing an important role in complementing the government’s efforts in fighting the coronavirus pandemic by raising awareness and informing people about the Covid treatment protocol, appropriate Covid behavior, and vaccination.
“In order to promote this cause, private television channels are encouraged to promote awareness of the following four helpline numbers nationwide through a ticker or the appropriate forms they consider at regular intervals, especially during business hours. prime time, “he said. .
The channels have been asked to show the number of the national helpline of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare -1075, the number of the helpline for children of the Ministry of Women and Child Development-1098, the line of help for the elderly from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment-14567 (in Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand) and the helpline number of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS) for psychological support: 08046110007.
