Study called by the WHO on the origins of Covid-19 ‘an important step’: MEA | India News

NEW DELHI: The Union Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday called the global study convened by the WHO on the origins of Covid-19 as “an important step” and said that the follow-up to the WHO report and additional studies deserve the everyone’s understanding and cooperation.
“The global study convened by the WHO on the origin of Covid-19 is an important first step. It highlighted the need for next phase studies and also for more data and studies to reach solid conclusions,” the MEA said.

On May 28, the International Council of Jurists (ICJ) urged the WHO Director-General to release all scientific and medical information on Covid-19 in light of reports that the coronavirus had originated in a laboratory in Wuhan. and not in the ‘wet market’ in Wuhan, until now believed by all countries.
