PM Modi holds review meeting with Odisha CM, officials on the impact of cyclone Yaas | India News


BHUBANESWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a review meeting with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other officials from state administrations on Friday to assess the impact of Cyclone Yaas.
The Prime Minister arrived in Bhubaneswar from Odisha earlier that day.
It will conduct an aerial reconnaissance of the affected parts of Odisha and West Bengal from 12:15 pm to 2:15 pm.
Following the aerial reconnaissance, Prime Minister Modi will visit West Bengal, where he will hold a review meeting with State Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and officials on the impact of Cyclone Yaas on the state.
The prime minister also chaired a meeting on Thursday to review the impact of the cyclone.
During the review meeting, PM Modi advised interested agencies to ensure that normal life is restored in the affected areas as soon as possible.
Cyclone Yaas made landfall in Odisha on May 26.
At least 3 people lost their lives in Odisha when Cyclone Yaas made landfall, while the Baitarani River crossed the danger level in Anandpur and Akhuapada.
Around 106 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) with 46 teams each were deployed to West Bengal and Odisha, rescuing more than 1000 people and removing more than 2500 trees / poles that had fallen and blocked roads.
