Pfizer tells the Center that its vaccine is suitable for ages 12 and older | India News

NEW DELHI: US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer informed the central government on Wednesday that its Covid-19 vaccine is suitable for everyone over the age of 12 and can be stored at 2-8 degrees for more than a month, according to sources.
They (Pfizer and the Indian government) also discussed indemnity protection against liability and called for flexibilities on some clauses before the company brings its Covid-19 vaccines to India, the sources added.
The drugmaker is likely to supply 50 million Covid-19 vaccines to India in 2021, albeit with some conditions, sources told ANI on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Moderna, another pharmaceutical giant in the US, sources said, hopes to start manufacturing its Covid-19 vaccines in India following a discussion with Cipla, a Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company, among other Indian firms.
Previously, both drug makers had reportedly refused to ship vaccines directly to the Delhi and Punjab state governments, claiming that they will only deal with the central government.
