GUWAHATI: Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi on Saturday he said the government plans to introduce a protection for cows invoice in the next session of the assembly to prohibit the transport of the animal out of state.
Addressing the first session of the 15 Legislative Assembly of AssamMukhi said that people revere and adore cows. The government will adopt a zero-tolerance policy for the protection of the animal and enforce strict punishment for those who transport it out of Assam, the governor said. “Once passed, Assam will join other states that have passed similar bills,” he said.
