Covid-19: Cumulative vaccination coverage nationwide exceeds Rs 19 crore | India News

NEW DELHI: In another achievement, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported on Friday that the national cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded Rs 19 million.
“India has achieved a new milestone in its vaccination campaign as the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has exceeded Rs 19 million (19,18,79,503) today in Phase 3 of the nationwide vaccination campaign, “reads an official statement from the Ministry.
A total of 19,18,79,503 doses of vaccine have been administered through 27,53,883 sessions, according to the interim report until 7 am today.
These include 97,24,339 healthcare workers (TS) who have taken their first dose and 66,80,968 TS who have taken the second dose.
In addition to the count, 1,47,91,600 first-line workers have received their first dose and 82,85,253 PDAs have received their second dose.
The newly added 86,04,498 beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group were also inoculated with their first vaccine injection. Furthermore, 5,98,35,256 people in the age group 45-60 years took their first dose and 95,80,860 people between 45 and 60 years took their second dose of vaccine.
Furthermore, 5,62,45,627 beneficiaries who are over 60 years old were punctured with their first dose and 1,81,31,102 beneficiaries over 60 years old were punctured with their second dose.
Ten states represent 66.32 percent of the total doses administered so far in the country. They are Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
More than 20.61 lakhs of tests were performed in the last 24 hours. With this achievement, India has once again set a new record for the highest tests ever conducted in a single day. On another front, the daily positivity rate has dropped to 12.59 percent.
India’s daily recoveries continue to outnumber new daily cases for the eighth day in a row. 3.57,295 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours. India’s cumulative recoveries have reached 2,27,12,735 today. The national recovery rate has grown further to 87.25%. Ten states account for 74.55 percent of the new recoveries. They are Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.
In another positive development, India has registered less than 3 lakh of new cases for five consecutive days. 2,59,551 new daily cases were registered in the last 24 hours. Ten states reported 76.66 percent of new cases in the last 24 hours. Tamil Nadu has reported the highest number of new cases daily with 35,579, followed by Kerala with 30,491 new cases. Next in line are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam.
On the other hand, the total number of active cases from India has decreased to 30,27,925 today. A net decrease of 1,01,953 is observed in the last 24 hours. It now comprises 11.63% of the total positive cases in the country. Eight states cumulatively account for 69.47 percent of India’s total active cases. The states are Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.
