Pinarayi Vijayan elected leader of the CPI (M) parliamentary party | India News


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI veteran Pinarayi (M) Vijayan he was elected on Tuesday as the leader of the parliamentary party, paving the way for his successive term as Chief Minister of Kerala.
Minister of Health in the salient Mounting, KK Shailaja, finds no place in the new cabinet that has 11 new CPI (M) faces.
The state committee of the Marxist party, which met at its AKG Center headquarters here, chose Vijayan to lead the party, according to a CPI (M) statement.

The party’s state committee, chaired by senior leader Elamaram Kareem, decided to entrust Shailaja with the party’s whip position, the statement added.
Vijayan had written history in the April 6 Assembly elections by leading the left front to a consecutive term, opposing the trend of more than four decades in the state of the people to choose alternately between communists and governments led by the Congress.
