NEW DELHI: The Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Mansukh Mandaviya, said on Tuesday that the government has worked out a strategy with manufacturers to increase domestic production and import of Amphotericin Bwhat a cure Mucormycosis, commonly known as Black fungus.
His comments came after he reviewed the requirements and position of the amphotericin-B supply today.
In a series of tweets today, the Union minister said: “The requirements and supply position of amphotericin-B which cures mucormycosis were reviewed. We have established a strategy with manufacturers to increase domestic production, as well as to import the drug from all over the world. world. ”
Mandaviya reported that the supply of amphotericin-B has increased many times, but there is currently a sudden increase in demand.
He assured that the Government is committed to making all possible and necessary efforts to make it available to patients in need.
“We have already improved the supply of amphotericin-B in many respects. But currently, we are facing a sudden increase in demand. Let me assure you that we are committed to moving heaven and earth to make them available to patients in need,” Mandaviya said in another tweet.
He further said that the Government has also outlined the system for efficient distribution and supply chain management of amphotericin-B.
Stating that the shortage is expected to be resolved as soon as possible, Mandaviya urged states to use the drug wisely by strictly following prescribed guidelines.
