NEW DELHI: Serum Institute of India CEO Adar Poonawalla issued a statement on Tuesday saying the company has not exported Covid-19 vaccines at the expense of the people of India.
Poonawalla said that the vaccination campaign for such a large population cannot be completed in 2-3 months and that it would take 2-3 years for the entire world population to be fully vaccinated.

“IBS has delivered more than 200 million doses, even though we receive the US two months after US pharmaceutical companies. If we look at the total doses produced and delivered, we are in the top three in the world. India.” it said in a statement.
“We would like to reiterate that we have never exported vaccines at the expense of the people in India and we remain committed to doing everything possible to support the vaccination campaign in the country,” Poonawalla added.
