Covid-19: Daily cases fall below 3 lakh for the first time since April 21 | India News
On Monday, daily Covid cases reported in the country fell below the 3 lakh mark for the first time since April 21.
A total of 4,106 deaths were reported Monday, the ministry said. So far, a total of 2,74,390 deaths have been reported in the country.
India’s cumulative recoveries have reached 2,11,74,076 with 3,78,741 patients recovering within 24 hours.
India’s Covid-19 count had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It went from 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and surpassed the one crore mark on December 19. India crossed the grim milestone of 2 crore Covid cases on May 4.
According to the ICMR, 31,64,23,658 samples have been analyzed as of May 16, 2021 and 15,73,515 samples have been analyzed on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of doses of the Covid-19 vaccine administered in the country surpassed 18.3 million rupees on Sunday in phase 3 of the nationwide vaccination campaign.
