The Center has been supporting the nationwide vaccination campaign by providing free Covid vaccines to states and UT, in addition to various efforts to increase their production and supply, the ministry said.
The implementation of the Phase 3 Liberalized and Accelerated Covid-19 Vaccination Strategy began on May 1, as part of which the government has opened vaccination for everyone over 18 years of age.
Under the Strategy, the Center will purchase each month 50% of the total authorized doses of vaccine from the Central Drug Laboratory (CDL) of any manufacturer. It would continue to make these doses available to state governments at no cost, as was previously done.
