IED explosion in Shopian; without collateral damage | India News
SRINAGAR: Unidentified terrorists activated a low intensity improvised explosive device (IED) explosion near an army vehicle in the Turkwangam area of South KashmirShopian district on Sunday. Fortunately, no lives were lost or property was damaged in the blast, an official said.
Reinforcements have been dispatched to the site and the cordoned off area to catch the attackers, he added.
Meanwhile, J&K police said two sons of the late Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chief Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai and four other people have been arrested for raising anti-national slogans during Sehrai’s funeral at Tikkipora in Kupwara last week. Sehrai (77) had died of Covid-19 while detained in Udhampur cell, Jammu.
Both sons of Late Sehrai and 4 others have been arrested for raising anti-national slogans during the funeral. But, they have not been reserved under PSA. Please don’t spread rumors, ”J&K police tweeted on Sunday. Previously, there were rumors on social media that Sehrai’s children were arrested under the strict Public Safety Law.
