The government cannot rush to reciprocate Ulfa's (I) offer to suspend operations | India News

The government of Assam and Center may opt for a cautious approach in the one-sided, three-month suspension of operations announced by Ulfa (Independent) led by Parash Baruah, and do not rush to reciprocate the same by attenuating counter-operations.
Sources indicated that the security system is unwilling to take risks, given the history that the outlaw group continued extortion and violent activities during a peace initiative in the past. Sources in the security establishment hinted that Ulfa (I) likely announced the suspension of his military operations, as he has come under tremendous pressure after he allegedly earned public ire over the kidnapping of three ONGC employees.
