NEW DELHI: Indian Youth Congress (IYC) President Srinivas BV on friday he said Delhi PoliceThe Crimes Division questioned him about the assistance he provided to people during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The police called me this morning and came to my office around 11:45 am. They asked me how he is doing,” he said.
However, Delhi police said the questioning was carried out following an order from the Delhi high court.
The high court has ordered the city police to investigate politicians involved in the distribution of drugs and other Covid-19 items, and to take action for the filing of FIR TREE in case of crime, said a senior police officer.
According to the instructions of the higher court, several people are being investigated, the officer said.
On May 4, the Delhi High Court asked the police to examine the cases of politicians allegedly procuring and distributing Remdesivir, used in the treatment of patients with Covid-19, in the national capital and to take steps for the presentation of FIR in case of infraction.
