Covid-19: Dr Reddy’s Launches Sputnik V In India At Around Rs 995 Per Dose | India News


HYDERABAD: Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, the Indian partner of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said it has started the launch of Sputnik V in India with the first dose administered in Hyderabad on Friday as part of a limited pilot.
The company also said that the imported vaccine is priced at Rs 948 per dose with an additional 5% GST to be charged, which puts the price at around Rs 995.4, slightly less than Rs 1000 per dose.
“As part of a limited pilot, the soft launch of the vaccine has begun and the first dose of the vaccine was administered in Hyderabad today, May 14, 2021,” the company said in a regulatory filing before the exchanges.
“Imported doses of the vaccine are currently priced at MRP of Rs 948 + 5% GST per dose, with the possibility of a lower price when local supply begins,” he said.
The company said the first shipment of imported doses of Sputnik V vaccine, which landed in India on May 1, 2021, received regulatory clearance from the Central Drug Laboratory, Kasauli, on May 13, 2021.
According to Dr. Reddy’s, more shipments of imported doses are expected in the coming months, and thereafter supply of the Sputnik V vaccine will start from manufacturing partners in India.
“The company is working closely with its six manufacturing partners in India to meet regulatory requirements and ensure a smooth and timely supply. Dr. Reddy’s will work closely with government and private sector stakeholders in India to ensure the widest possible reach of the Sputnik V vaccine as part of the national inoculation effort, ”the company said.
