ChildFund India Expands with Medical Supplies and Vaccination Support in Rural Areas | India News


CHENNAI: ChildFund India, in collaboration with Project HOPE, a global health and humanitarian aid group, has organized various initiatives to help vulnerable communities in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana to cope with the pandemic of Covid-19.
Project HOPE and ChildFund India aim to ensure the availability of basic medical equipment in local health care centers, which serve as Covid care centers, in the highly vulnerable districts of these states, help frontline workers with PPE and essential medical kits and improve access and affordability. and accessibility of the Covid-19 vaccine and related materials for all vulnerable groups.
ChildFund India’s overall efforts aim to reach one million people, including children, in 15 states / UT through vaccination campaigns and to support at least 10 million people through the overall response. In addition, the most vulnerable people are supported with food baskets, hygiene kits and psychosocial support. ChildFund India is collaborating with state and district health departments, businesses and community frontline workers to efficiently extend support.
“During the first wave, we reached 1.5 million people, providing them with relief materials, livelihood recovery opportunities, psychosocial support and necessary medical help. By virtue of our presence on the ground, when the second wave struck vulnerable communities, ChildFund India collaborated with Project HOPE to ensure that local primary health care centers have the necessary medical equipment to save lives at risk. Our next step is to protect our children from the impact of Covid by leading a vaccination campaign, ”said Neelam Makhijani, Country Director of ChildFund India.
