JAMMU: Head of army The General Staff (CoAS) General MM Naravane visited advanced areas in the Jammu division to review the security situation along the Line of Control (Place) and inside during his two-day visit to the region, a defense spokesman said Wednesday.
“General Naravane arrived at the headquarters of the 16 corps (White Knight Corps) based in Nagrota on Tuesday and visited advanced areas including Aknoor, Rajouri and Naushera. He praised the efforts of all ranks of the White Knights Corps towards maintaining the sanctity of the LoC, ”said Lt. Col. Devender Anand of PRO Defense, based in Jammu.
“Gen Naravane, accompanied by Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General YK Joshi, was briefed by Lieutenant General Suchendra Kumar, General Officer in Command (GOC), White Knight Corps, about the prevailing security situation, operational readiness, management of Covid-19 and the assistance provided to veterans and the people of the region in our fight against the pandemic, ”said Lt. Col. Anand.
The three officials also visited the military hospital in Jammu and reviewed medical preparedness to combat Covid-19, the spokesperson added.
