Sonia Audible’s CWC Speech at Supreme Court Covid Electronic Hearing | India News

NEW DELHI: A technical problem on the Supreme Court server on Monday derailed the scheduled videoconference hearing in the suo motu case “distribution of essential supplies and services during the pandemic” and the court postponed the hearing until Thursday.
Before the start of the hearing, Attorney General Tushar Mehta struggled to properly log into the system. Minutes after logging in, he was seen asking the SC control room to stop silencing top advocates and members of Congress Kapil Sibal and P Chidambaram, who were showing up for some state governments.
Immediately after the sound was turned off, the speech of the head of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, at the meeting of the Congress Working Committee was transmitted on audio to the system, as probably one of the members of Congress, who was participating in the SC videoconference, was also linked on another device to the virtual meeting of the CWC. . It went on for a good minute before a smiling Sibal was heard urging Chidamabaram to turn off the other device. A little later, judges DY Chandrachud, LN Rao, and SR Bhat appeared on the screen, but their screens froze within seconds, never to connect again.
