9,200 oxygen concentrators, 5,243 O2 cylinders, 3.44L vials of Remdesivir delivered to states: Government | India News

NEW DELHI: A total of 9,200 oxygen concentrators, 5,243 oxygen cylinders, 19 oxygen generating plants and approximately 3.44 lakh of Remdesivir vials received as global aid were delivered or shipped by road and air to various states and territories of the Union between April 27 and May 10, the Ministry of Health said Tuesday.
The main shipments received on Monday from the United Arab Emirates, USA, Israel and the Netherlands include ventilators or BiPAP or CPAP (610), oxygen concentrators (300) and 12,600 strips of favipiravir (each strip contains 40 tablets).
In total, 9,200 oxygen concentrators, 5,243 oxygen cylinders, 19 oxygen generation plants, 5,913 ventilators or BiPAP and approximately 3.44 lakh of Remdesivir vials have been delivered or shipped by road and air between April 27 and April. May 10, the ministry said in a statement.
The process of effective immediate allocation and simplified delivery to the receiving states, territories and institutions of the Union is being monitored on a regular basis by the ministry, according to the statement.
A dedicated coordination cell has been created in the health ministry to coordinate the receipt and allocation of foreign COVID relief material in the form of grants, aid and donations. The cell began to function as of April 26.
A standard operating procedure has been developed that the ministry has been implementing since May 2.
