Priyanka criticizes the government for the Central Vista project | India News
NEW DELHI: Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday attacked the government for the Central View Project and questioned the costs of a new residence for the prime minister when it could be used for Covid-19-related medical assistance.
The redevelopment project of the Central View – the country’s electricity corridor – envisages a new triangular Parliament building, a common Central Secretariat, the redevelopment of the three kilometer long Rajpath from Rashtrapati Bhavan to india gate and new residences for the prime minister and vice president.
The government has included construction work on the ambitious project under the scope of “essential services” to ensure the smooth movement of workers during the ongoing blockade in Delhi.
“New PM residence and Central Vista cost = Rs 20,000 cr = 62 crore vaccine doses = 22 crore Remdesvir vials = 3 crore 10 liter oxygen cylinders = 13 AIIMS with a total of 12,000 beds. WHY?” Priyanka Gandhi said in a tweet.
Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and several other top congressional leaders have been calling on the government to put aside its plans on the Vista Central project and prioritize improving medical infrastructure during the Covid-19 pandemic to save lives.
