Covid-19: India registers 3.66 lakh new cases, 3,700 deaths in 24 hours | India News


NEW DELHI: India’s daily increase in coronavirus cases retreated from the 400,000 mark on Monday, while its daily increase in deaths also declined after two days in a row of more than 4,000 deaths.
The Health Ministry reported 366,161 new Covid-19 infections and 3,754 more deaths. India’s total number of cases now stands at 22.66 million, with 246,116 deaths.

The number of active cases of the coronavirus infection in the country has risen to 37,45,237, representing 16.53 percent of its total case burden, while the national recovery rate of Covid-19 was recorded in 82.39 percent.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 1,86,71,222, while the fatality rate was recorded at 1.09 percent, according to the data.

Over the past week (May 3 to May 9), India reported more than 27,000 deaths and more than 27.4 lakh of new cases, its highest weekly Covid number to date.
However, the case growth in this period, 5 percent, was also the lowest during the second wave, indicating that perhaps the second wave had reached or was approaching its peak.
Deaths grew at a faster rate of nearly 15 percent, with the daily fatality rate crossing 1 percent for the first time in the second wave in the past three days.

India’s Covid-19 count crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7 last year, the 30 lakh mark on August 23, the 40 lakh mark on September 5, and the 50 lakh mark on September 16. of September.
It went from 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and the one crore mark on December 19 last year. The figure crossed the grim two million rupee milestone on May 4.
According to the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), so far 30,37,50,077 samples have been tested for the viral disease across the country, including 14,74,606 on Sunday.
