NEW DELHI: Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has written to President Ram Nath Kovind to call an urgent session of Parliament to discuss the Covid situation in the country.
In his letter to the president, Chowdhury said that it is important to convene a session of Parliament to find a way to ease the lives of people suffering from the new coronavirus.
He described the pandemic situation in the country as serious and said that a national solution needs to be found to handle the problem.
“In this critical situation, I would urge your kind conscience to call a special session (Covid crisis) of Parliament because India is made up of several constituencies and each Member of Parliament representing their respective state constituency has something to say. on the condition of people there and in order to find a way to ease the lives of the suffering people, “he said in his letter.
The decision to convene a special session of Parliament was made at a meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party, made up of all party deputies, on Friday.
