300 oxygen plants are being installed in UP, says Yogi Adityanath | India News


AYODHYA: Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Monday that work is underway to establish 300 oxygen plants in the state and said the state should not be entirely dependent on oxygen supply but should also have its own plants oxygen.
Uttar Pradesh CM said up to 1000 metric tons (MT) of medical oxygen was supplied to the state on May 9 and thanked the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for running special trains to overcome the shortage of medical oxygen.
Adityanath, addressing media staff in Ayodhya, said: “The second wave of Covid-19 posed a new challenge before us and the demand for oxygen suddenly increased. We also have to supply oxygen to Ayodhya, from where it is being supplied to the nearby districts. We thank the government of India and Prime Minister Modi, who are operating special trains for this. ”
“Oxygen Express is running, tanker trucks are being shipped on large Air Force planes. Yesterday, 1000 MT of oxygen was supplied to the state. But we must not be restricted to supply, oxygen plants must also be established. Work is underway to establish up to 300 Oxygen Plants in the state ”, said UP CM.
“We have also delivered oxygen concentrators to all districts. In the first phase, all districts have been delivered the same. More concentrators will also be delivered,” he said.
Adityanath also said that the active case in the state has dropped to 2.25,000 compared to 3,10,000 active cases on April 30, which was the highest active case on record in Uttar Pradesh.
The ‘partial Corona curfew’ in the state was previously extended until 7 a.m. on May 17, in light of the increase in Covid-19 cases.
According to official data, the accumulated cases of Covid-19 in the state amount to 12,54,045.
