100-bed oxygenated Covid facility opens at Hajj House, Srinagar | India News


SRINAGAR- In the wake of the increase in Covid-19 cases, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Srinagar has set up an oxygenated Covid care center with 100 beds at Haj House Bemina, an official said. only a week.
While providing details, CMO Srinagar informed Deputy Commissioner Aijaz Asad, who is also president of DDMA, that patients referred by a doctor who have mild symptoms of Covid-19 infection and require oxygen support of less than 10 liters per minute can be admitted. for both isolation and treatment.
In addition, he added that the Health Department is in the process of acquiring more bulk oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators to increase the capacity of the bed at Hajj House.
DC was informed that a duty roster has also been developed for medical officers and paramedical personnel to care for admitted patients.
The spokesperson said the 100 beds have been provided by the R&B department. Adequate arrangements have also been made for uninterrupted power and water supply. The PDD has also configured a set of 63 KVA capacity DGs as backup to overcome any power outage.
“Regarding sanitation, cleaning and fumigation measures, the DDMA President was informed that SMC has deployed a dedicated team to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in and around the facilities.”
Earlier, DDMA President Aijaz Asad said the facility will decongest bed occupancy in tertiary care hospitals by transferring patients who have an oxygen requirement of less than 10 liters per minute and who are not taking injectable medications to Hajj House. He said this is not a medical facility, but rather an oxygen support facility and will act as an oxygen bank.
Aijaz Asad further said that the initiative is a joint venture of DDMA Srinagar, the District Health Society and the District Red Cross Society. He added that more oxygen beds will be established as per the Honorable LG’s instructions to further strengthen the oxygen support system in Srinagar district.
He also said that the Honorable LG has ordered the increase of beds in tertiary care hospitals and the deployment of additional infrastructure to meet any demanding situation in addition to breaking the chain of Covid-19 infection.
