Prime Minister Modi congratulates MP Stalin on being sworn in as Tamil Nadu CM | India News


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra modi has congratulated Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) head MK Stalin, who took oath As the Tamil nadu Prime Minister on Friday.
The Prime Minister in a tweet said: “Congratulations to Thiru @mkstalin for taking the oath as Tamil Chief Minister of Nadu “.

Stalin followed in the footsteps of his late father, M. Karunanidhi, when he was sworn in “on behalf of conscience” while he was sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Along with Stalin, 33 others also took the oath as Cabinet ministers of state in “name of the conscience”.
Traditionally, most ministers take an oath in the name of God. However, all the ministers in Stalin’s cabinet took this oath in the “name of conscience.”
Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of office to them in Raj bhavan in Chennai. Stalin will have various portfolios including Home, General Administration, Special Initiatives, Implementation of Special Programs
and well-being of people with disabilities.
