Maharashtra DGP recuses from both Param Bir probes | India News
MUMBAI: Acting Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay pandey has written to state government saying he is refraining from the task of conducting two investigations against the former city police commissioner Param One Singh. Pandey sent the communication after Singh alleged that the acting DGP offered to mediate in his confrontation with the state government.
Singh had telephoned Pandey and recorded the conversation with him in which the interim DGP allegedly offered to mediate between him and the state government. Singh attached the transcripts of the conversation to a petition he filed in the Bombay High Court against the government’s decision to carry out the two investigations.
Singh challenged the two orders passed on April 1 and 20 by the state that led a preliminary investigation of Pandey under the rules of duty and an investigation into the allegations made by a police inspector against him.
