Over 79 Lakh Covid-19 Vaccine Doses Available in States / UT: Center | India News


NEW DELHI: More than 79 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine are available in Union states and territories and more than 17 lakh doses will be supplied in the next three days, the Union Ministry of Health said on Saturday .
So far, the Center has provided nearly 16.37 crore of vaccine doses to states / UT at no cost. Of this, the total consumption, including waste, is 15,58,48,782 doses, according to official data available until 8 a.m. on Saturday.
“More than 79,13,518 doses of Covid-19 vaccine are still available in the states and UTs to be administered.
“In addition, the states / UT will receive more than 17,31,110 doses of vaccines in the next 3 days,” said the ministry.
The ministry also said that Maharashtra received 17,50,620 doses of ‘Covishield’ and 5,76,890 ‘Covaxin’ vaccines from the Center for the first half of May.
Delhi has been assigned 3,73,760 doses of Covishield and 1,23,170 doses of Covaxin for the same period, he said.
While Chhattisgarh has been assigned 6,47,300 doses of Covishield and 2,13,300 doses of Covaxin, West Bengal has been given 9,95,300 doses of Covishield and 3,27,980 doses of Covaxin, during the first half of May.
Uttar Pradesh has been assigned 13,49,850 doses of Covishield and 4,11,870 doses of Covaxin, and Rajasthan 12,92,460 doses of Covishield and 4,42,390 doses of Covaxin, for the same period, the ministry said.
Kerala has been assigned 6,84,070 doses of Covishield and 2,25,430 doses of Covaxin, Punjab 4,63,710 doses of Covishield and 1,52,810 doses of Covaxin, and Gujarat has been given 12,48,700 doses of Covishield and 4 , 11,490 doses of Covaxin, for the first half of May. additional.
The central government has been at the forefront of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Vaccination forms an integral component of the government’s five-point strategy to combat the pandemic, which includes testing, tracking, treating, and appropriate Covid behavior.
Meanwhile, as of Saturday, the Liberalized and Accelerated Phase 3 Covid-19 Vaccination Strategy will be implemented. Registration for the new eligible population groups began on April 28.
Potential beneficiaries can register directly on the CoWIN portal or via the Aarogya Setu mobile app, the ministry added.
