NEW DELHI: The Railroad Board has decided to waive expenses incurred for RT-PCR and RAT testing of non-rail personnel in camps and group settings, a ministry statement said Friday.
It has also decided to supply these patients with food during the Covid-related hospitalization for free.
“Indian Railways has been at the forefront of fighting Covid with all its might, from maintaining supply chains and getting the wheels of the economy rolling to providing Covid-Care coaches, running oxygen and passenger express trains. in the most difficult circumstances.
“The resignation of these key medical charges is a step towards making health care accessible to all,” said the national carrier. The railroads have dedicated more than 6,500 hospital beds in their 125 hospitals across the country for treating Covid-19 patients.
The national carrier has said that around 93,000 rail beneficiaries have been affected by the virus.
