PM Modi reviews the Army’s preparedness and initiatives in managing Covid | India News


NEW DELHI: Army Chief of Staff General MM Naravane visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. They discussed various initiatives the Army is taking to help manage Covid, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.
The Army is making its medical personnel available to state governments and establishing temporary hospitals in various parts of the country to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, Army Chief General MM Naravane told Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
“General MM Naravane informed the prime minister that the Army is assisting with manpower for imported tanker trucks and oxygen vehicles where specialized skills are required to handle them,” a statement added.
Modi has been holding daily meetings with various organizations and officials as the government pools its resources to combat the pandemic that is spreading in various parts of the country.
