Let’s hope all citizens get the Covid vaccine for free this time: Rahul Gandhi | India News

NEW DELHI: Congressional Leader Rahul Gandhi said Thursday that all citizens “should receive the vaccine free of charge” against Covid-19.
“Free / Fri / adjective, adverb. It costs nothing or does not need to be paid. For example, * India should get the COVID vaccine for free. * All citizens should get the vaccine at no charge. Hopefully they will get it this time”, Gandhi he said in a tweet.

Earlier on Wednesday, the congressional leader said a large amount of public money was spent on companies that make the coronavirus vaccine and that the same vaccine is now being sold to the public at higher prices.
On April 19, the Center had announced a “liberalized” policy, making everyone over the age of 18 eligible to be vaccinated as of May 1. It has also allowed state governments and private hospitals to buy vaccines from manufacturers.
Registration for the new eligible population groups began Wednesday. Potential beneficiaries can register directly on the CoWIN portal (cowin.gov.in) or through the Aarogya Setu app.
