Covid-19: US diverts raw material to Serum Institute for vaccine production | India News


WASHINGTON (AP) – The United States on Monday implemented a series of supportive measures to aid India’s titanic fight against the rise of Covid-19, including diverting raw materials to the Serum Institute to India to make vaccines and drugs. oxygen generating systems and the drug Remdesivir. even as President Biden pledged the full support of the United States in providing emergency assistance and resources to New Delhi.

Officials at the White House National Security Council also declined to answer questions about India’s request for a patent and intellectual property rights waiver in relation to fighting Covid, while confirming that Prime Minister Modi he had raised the matter in his telephone conversation with President Biden. They took the issue to the office of the US Trade Representative.
