NEW DELHI: Amid the grim Covid-19 situation in the country, four cryogenic tanks, to be used for oxygen transport, will be airlifted from Singapore on Saturday. TO home ministry The official said that the four empty tanks are being brought to India by a heavy cargo transport plane from the Indian Air Force.
An IAF C-17 aircraft took off from Hindon airbase on the outskirts of Delhi to Singapore’s Changi Airport early in the morning on Saturday.
After loading the tanks, the aircraft is expected to land at Panagarh Air Base in west bengal tonight, another official said.
On Friday, the Union Home Ministry It said it was in talks to import high-capacity tankers carrying oxygen from Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
The movement came later Union interior minister Amit shah reviewed the coronavirus situation in the country.
