The Center had announced on Wednesday that Remdesivir injection production capacity is increasing from the current level of 38 lakh of vials per month to 74 lakh of vials per month.
It had also said that 20 additional manufacturing sites had been approved.
The Union Ministry of Health in coordination with the Pharmaceutical Products Department has made a provisional allocation of Remdesivir for 19 states and Union territories (UT) for the period through April 30, to further address reports of shortages of the drug in certain regions of the country and facilitate its seamless interstate supply.
Several states and UT have reported a severe shortage of Remdesivir and raised the issue with the Center.
