Remdesivir production capacity increased to 90 lakh vials per month – Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya | India News

NEW DELHI: Amid shortages of Remdesivir in hospitals across the country, the Union’s Minister of Fertilizers and Chemicals, Mansukh Mandaviya, announced Friday that the government approved 25 new manufacturing sites for production of the antiviral drug. And the production capacity has already been approved. increased up to 90 lakh vials per month.
“Since April 12, 25 new manufacturing sites have been approved for Remdesivir production. Production capacity has now increased to> = 90 lakhs of vials per month. It was previously 40 lakhs of vials / month.” tweeted Union Minister Mandaviya.
“Very soon, 3 lakh vials / day will be produced. Monitoring is done daily. We would leave no stone unturned to deliver Remdesivir,” he added.
Last week, the Union minister told ANI that the central government has taken several measures to ensure the availability of the crucial injections that are part of the Covid-19 treatment.
Mandaviya had said that the central government is continuously working to ensure that Remdesivir injection production increases as soon as possible and its prices are lowered.
