Only 2 SC judges have tested positive for Covid, clarifies the court | India News

NEW DELHI: Amid furious speculation that nearly half of the 29 Supreme Court justices tested positive for Covid, the CS clarified Thursday that only two, Justices Ashok Bhushan and Sanjiv Khanna, were infected but are recovering well.
There were several reports on news portals and web media about a large number of SC judges testing positive. SC sources said that of the two, the only judge Khanna required a brief hospitalization. “Both judges are on the way to recovery,” the sources said.
But, the pandemic seems to have affected many officials and senior officials, preventing even virtual hearings. On Wednesday and Thursday, almost all of the judges took the RT-PCR test and all tested negative. But, as the contagion rate among staff is high, the SC had decided to list eight cases for hearing on Thursday via videoconference before three banks, compared to an average of twelve banks that had been operating since March 25 of the year. past.
