India Administers More Than 31 Lakhs Of Covid-19 Vaccine Doses In Last 24 Hours | India News


NEW DELHI: India has administered more than 31 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine in the past 24 hours, the union health ministry said on Friday.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, 13,54,78,420 doses of vaccines have been administered through 19,38,184 sessions, according to the interim report until 7 am today.
In addition, eight states represent 59.08 percent of the cumulative doses administered so far in the country.
As on day 97 of the vaccination campaign (April 22, 2021), 31,47,782 doses of vaccine were administered. 19,25,873 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 28,683 sessions for the first dose and 12,21,909 beneficiaries received the second dose of the vaccine.
“These include 92,42,364 TS who have taken the first dose and 59.04,739 TS who have taken the second dose, 1,17,31,959 PDA (first dose), 60,77,260 PDA (second dose), 4,85,34,810 First dose beneficiaries and 65,21,662 beneficiaries of 2nd dose older than 60 years and 4,55,64,330 (1st dose) and 19,01,296 (2nd dose) beneficiaries aged 45 to 60 years, “he indicated.
3.32,730 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, of which Maharashtra has reported the highest daily new cases with 67,013, followed by Uttar Pradesh with 34,254, while Kerala reported 26,995 new cases.
Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan have shown a high increase in daily new Covid cases and 75.01 percent of new cases are reported in these ten state.
“India’s total number of active cases has reached 24,28,616. It now comprises 14.93 percent of the country’s total positive cases. A net tilt of 1.37,188 recorded cases out of total active cases in the last 24 hours, “the ministry said.
The five states of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala cumulatively account for 59.12% of the total active cases in India.
With 1.93,279 recoveries in the last 24 hours, India’s cumulative recoveries today stand at 1.36,48,159. The national recovery rate is 83.92%.
Meanwhile, the national death rate has been declining and currently stands at 1.15%.
The Health Ministry said 2,263 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Ten states account for 81.79% of new deaths, while Maharashtra recorded the highest number of victims (568) followed by Delhi with 306 daily deaths.
Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Lakshadweep, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh have not reported any deaths from Covid 19 in the last 24 hours.
