NEW DELHI: As India faces an acute oxygen supply shortage in designated hospitals for Covid patients, the government on Wednesday launched a short-term global tender to import 50,000 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen (LMO).
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched this global tender through HLL Lifecare, which is a government company.
The tender, which was launched on April 16, establishes that the imported Liquid Medical Oxygen will be used by several hospitals in the Center and state governments.
On Tuesday a pre-bid meeting was held on this tender.
The security deposit (EMD) is void for this tender. Bidders generally have to deposit some EMDs before submitting a bid for the tender, but seeing the emergency, the Center has made it easy for them to deposit any EMDs.
The tender establishes that HLL Lifecare for and on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare invites eligible and qualified bidders or suppliers to global tenders for the procurement of imported liquid oxygen with a minimum purity of 99.5% in 20MT ISO containers.
The global tender will open on April 28 and the delivery schedule will be calculated from the date of opening the letter of credit (LOC).
