Expand Capacity to Cover All Citizens in the Shortest Time Possible, Prime Minister Modi Told Vaccine Manufacturers | India News


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with major vaccine manufacturers across the country via video conferencing.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister urged vaccine manufacturers to continually expand production capacity to vaccinate citizens in the shortest time possible.
“Throughout this vaccine development and manufacturing process, the country has consistently worked in the spirit of public-private partnership under the ‘Covid Suraksha Mission,’ and has created an end-to-end vaccine development ecosystem.” said PM Modi.
“The government made sure that all vaccine manufacturers not only receive all possible help and logistical support, but also that the vaccine approval process is fast and scientific,” he added.
The Prime Minister also ensured all possible support and a smooth approval process for the candidate vaccines that are currently in the testing phase.
“The health infrastructure of our private sector has played an important role in the country’s fight against Covid-19 and in the coming days, the private sector will play an even more active role in the vaccination campaign. This will require better coordination. between hospitals and industry, “he said.
They also discussed their plans to increase production, upcoming vaccine candidates, and research on the new variants.
