Rahul Gandhi cancels his public rallies in Bengal due to the Covid situation | India News

NEW DELHI: Congressional leader Rahul Gandhi suspended his campaign for West Bengal assembly elections on Sunday due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the country.
“In view of the Covid situation, I will suspend all my public rallies in West Bengal,” Rahul said in a tweet.
The former president of Congress also advised all political leaders “to think deeply about the consequences of holding large public rallies” in the current circumstances.
India reported 2.61,500 new cases in the past 24 hours, its biggest single-day increase since the pandemic began last year.
It is the fourth day in a row that India has reported more than 2 billion new cases.
