Covid-19: night curfew in Bihar; schools, theaters, gyms close until May 15 | India News


NEW DELHI: Bihar became the latest state to impose a nightly curfew on Sunday amid an unprecedented surge in coronavirus infections.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that the curfew will remain in effect statewide from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
“All stores that sell vegetables, fruits, eggs and meat will be closed at 6 pm. Restaurants and dhabas that will be operational for home delivery and take-out services will be allowed until 9 pm,” said Nitish Kumar .
He said that schools, colleges and other educational institutes will remain closed and that state schools and universities will not take exams until May 15.
Movie theaters, shopping malls, clubs, gyms, religious venues and parks will also be closed until May 15, he said.
Kumar also said that his government has decided to award an additional one month salary to all healthcare workers this year as well.
