MHA calls on CAPFs to delegate 25 doctors and 75 paramedics to DRDO’s Covid hospital in Ahmedabad | India News


NEW DELHI: On Friday, the Home Office decided to delegate 25 doctors and 75 paramedics to DRDO’s upcoming 900-bed Covidhospital in Ahmedabad.
Also in Delhi, the Home Office has assigned the same number of staff to DRDO’s Covidcare in the Delhi Cantonment, which will be reactivated soon.
According to a communication, the Interior Ministry has said: “Gujarat’s Chief Secretary has reported that DRDO is establishing a 900-bed hospital for Covid patients at the Gujarat University Convention Center, Ahmedabad, and has requested the help of alternate medical officers and other paramedical personnel run the hospital. ”
“It has been decided to dismiss 25 doctors and 75 paramedics from the CAPF,” the MHA said while asking the forces to pardon a certain number of doctors and paramedics from all paramilitary forces.
The MHA has asked the forces “to identify the force’s medical and paramedical officers to be dispatched to DRDO Hospital and must report for duty at DRDO Ahmedabad Hospital by April 21.”
Previously, the MHA had asked the forces to dispatch 25 medical officers and 75 paramedics to the Delhi Cantonment DRDO COVID-19 care center, which will begin operating soon.
The decision to reactivate the Covidcenter was made at a meeting chaired by the Secretary of the Interior of the Union, Ajay Bhalla.
Currently, the Center in the Delhi Cantonment will have 250 facilities with ICU beds which will be increased to 500 in the coming days.
